Christine Koh said:

“I spent this morning with Carolyn (virtually...she is a lovely, calm, there-are-no-mistakes teacher). WOW, what a wonderful, genius way to make creativity accessible to people! What a fantastic project! It was so relaxing to do and fun to learn!”

"I so enjoyed taking Carolyn's virtual Cape Cod Stripes class and am truly thrilled with my paintings. I plan on getting them framed and displaying them proudly. The virtual class provides all the supplies you need to make beautiful paintings with the added bonus of being able to rewind as needed. What a lovely experience!" (blog)

M.A. Gallerani said:

“I loved this class, and left with two paintings I will proudly hang in my own home. Carolyn’s instruction was clear, but left room for lots of self expression. I highly recommend this workshop to anyone looking to be creative.”

Come hang out in my art studio-

virtually!

Experience the positive energy of my art studio from anywhere in the world. You will enjoy clear instructions, and create a painting (or two, or ten!) that will look like a professional artist made them. I promise, you’ve got this!

P.S. The entire workshop was filmed right here in my studio.

ABOUT

BIO

I am a full-time abstract painter with a love of home décor, photography, travel, and chocolate. With decades of honing my own artistic style, I come to teaching with a generous heart and years of experience. I encourage my students to leap into the creative process with a sense of curiosity and openness, then guide them to trust their intuition. The lessons I learn from painting have transformed me into a better, happier, and more grounded human, and I know they can for you too.

Beyond teaching, I love creating art that looks amazing within the space it will ultimately reside. I live in Wellesley, MA with my husband and two boys, and create in a light-filled art studio on the third floor of our circa 1898 home.

FAQs

Q. Do I need prior painting experience?

A. No experience needed. Many of my students don’t paint at all.

Q. Will I learn anything if I am an intermediate or advanced painter?

A. Absolutely! I believe that we all learn from understanding the process of other artists.

Q. When does the workshop begin and end?

A. You have access to this self paced workshop immediately upon purchase. Your access expires one year from the date of purchase.

Q. Can I take the workshop with a friend/family member even if we are not together?

A. Absolutely! All of the lessons are pre-recorded so you and your friend/family member can take it together at your convenience. Many students are connecting via video conferencing or phone call while they go through the content together.

I think it is a beautiful way for you to be creative and connect with your friend at the same time.

Q. Is the workshop recommended for children?

A. The workshop is geared toward teens/adults who want to create professional looking art. However, kids aged 8 and up should be able to follow along easily. I also recommend that adults and children do the workshop together as it is a wonderful experience to share.

Q. Can I use my own paints and tools?

A. Yes. You may want to supplement what you have, but the most important items are a thick archival paper, gesso, acrylic paint, and a few brushes. You will be given a supply list as soon as you purchase the course.

Q. Do I need to purchase a Kit to get the most out of the workshop?

A. Definitely not. Use your own supplies, or purchase the supplies I recommend (you will receive a supply list with the purchase of the workshop).

Q. What are the Kits for?

A. The Kits are a box of all of the supplies you need to make your stripes. They are meant to be a convenience as well as save time and money if your goal is to create a few stripes with great results. I offer Kits in the most popular color schemes based on polls I took on social media.

Q. How long does the workshop take?

A. Good question, and the truthful answer is, it depends on how you use it. There is about 4 hours of video content, but it is not necessary to watch all of it. Most people complete a couple of paintings in 2-3 hours.

Q. Do you have suggestions for framing my artwork?

A. Yes, I have a free framing guide that can be accessed here.

Q. Do you offer reduced rates for students, seniors, or someone facing financial hardship?

A. Yes, and it granted on an honor system. Simply email me at [email protected] for instructions on how to get your special rate.

Q. Can I get my money back if the workshop isn’t right for me?

A. Yes, I offer a 30 day full refund guarantee.
